Marked for Death

Album Notes & Community Reviews

On 'Marked for Death', Emma Ruth Rundle fuses the intimacy of folk songwriting with the dense, atmospheric weight of post-rock and shoegaze, creating a sound that is simultaneously immense and personal. The album’s full-band arrangements feature heavily distorted guitars and dynamic builds that underscore lyrical themes of mortality, self-destruction, and a grim sense of romantic fatalism. Rundle's vocal performance is a central force, shifting from fragile whispers to powerful, cathartic wails that convey both vulnerability and resilience within the record's vast, emotionally raw soundscape.
