Album Notes & Community Reviews

'Goodbye to the Gallows' formally introduced the New York-based extreme outfit Emmure to the mainstream metalcore scene. Controversial among genre purists for its complete reliance on repetitive, aggressively down-tuned chugging, the album effectively laid the essential groundwork for the mid-tempo beatdown style that ultimately defined their enduring career.
