Album Notes & Community Reviews
Finally stepping out on her own following the tragic death of her mentor Gram Parsons, Emmylou Harris crafted a staggeringly gorgeous, immaculately produced solo debut. 'Pieces of the Sky' bridges the gap between traditional country and modern Americana, utilizing wonderfully pastoral, incredibly soft acoustic instrumentation to deliver beautifully melodic, deeply sentimental, and remarkably introspective folk balladry.
