Album Notes & Community Reviews

Morricone built his score for Sergio Leone's 'A Fistful of Dollars' around Alessandro Alessandroni's whistling and his choir I Cantori Moderni, with twanging guitar, whip cracks and jew's harp standing in for a conventional western orchestra. It was the first of the Dollars Trilogy scores, and its economy of means effectively invented the sound of the spaghetti western.
