Morricone's score for Sergio Sollima's 'La resa dei conti' opens with 'Run Man Run', sung by Christy over a galloping choral arrangement that became one of his most covered western themes. The film, the first of Sollima's western trilogy and a breakthrough for Lee Van Cleef, gave Morricone a more political canvas than the Leone pictures, and his music answers with some of his most driven writing of the period.
