Album Notes & Community Reviews

Led by musicologist Marcel P茅r猫s, the highly esteemed French vocal ensemble meticulously resurrects the austere, purely vocal traditions of the 12th-century Cistercian order. 'Chant Cistercien' relies heavily on historically informed ornamentation and incredibly resonant, drone-backed Gregorian chanting. The recording is widely celebrated for its academic rigor and its profoundly mesmerizing, deeply spiritual atmosphere.
