Socrate

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conducted by the renowned modernist champion René Leibowitz, this recording revives Erik Satie's austere, symphonic drama based on the dialogues of Plato. The Orchestre philharmonique de Paris navigates the composer's intentionally repetitive, anti-romantic 'white music' with precise clarity, offering a stark contrast to the era's heavier classical interpretations.
