A Pyrrhic Existence

Album Notes & Community Reviews

'A Pyrrhic Existence' is a monolithic double album that builds upon a funeral doom framework with extensive psychedelic and progressive experimentation across six colossal tracks. The compositions are dense and oppressive, constructed from layers of three guitars that shift between crushing, dissonant riffs and surreal, ambient passages, all navigated by Greg Chandler’s guttural vocal delivery. Thematically exploring the concept of a victory so costly it equals defeat, the album uses its nearly 100-minute runtime to create an uncompromising and bleak journey into psychological suffering, marking a key work in the band's discography.
