Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following a tumultuous stint with Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, the gifted vocalist and keyboardist delivered a strikingly unique blend of confessional songwriting and jazz-inflected soul. The recording highlights her idiosyncratic piano phrasing and powerful, multi-octave vocal delivery, navigating complex emotional and philosophical terrain. The work is widely regarded as a hidden masterpiece of the early singer-songwriter movement.
