Etta James Sings for Lovers

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released shortly after her self-titled album, 'Etta James Sings for Lovers' further commits to framing her powerful vocals with sweeping, cinematic string arrangements. The record focuses almost entirely on lush ballads and jazz standards, aiming squarely at the sophisticated adult contemporary market. While it sands down some of her raw R&B grit, it highlights her incredible dynamic control and interpretative depth.
