Album Notes & Community Reviews

Deliberately turning away from the organic rock instrumentation of their mid-80s commercial peak, the duo returned to cold, mechanical synthesizer programming. The album functions as a sharp, highly eclectic art-pop statement, emphasizing repetitive drum machine loops and Annie Lennox's increasingly theatrical, character-driven vocal performances.
