Evans Blue's debut, 'The Melody and the Energetic Nature of Volume', fuses the textures of nu-metal and hard rock with thematic explorations of relationship turmoil. The album achieved significant commercial recognition, topping the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, propelled by singles "Cold (But I'm Still Here)" and "Over." Produced by Trevor Kustiak, the recording is also notable for its cover of Sarah McLachlan's "Possession" and as the only studio release featuring original drummer Darryl Brown.
