Album Notes & Community Reviews

MacColl and Seeger recorded these industrial folk ballads with Bill Leader for a 10-inch LP, twelve songs of mill, mine and factory life including 'The Four Loom Weaver', 'The Gresford Disaster' and 'Poor Paddy Works on the Railway'. Several numbers are MacColl's own, among them 'Champion at Keepin' 'em Rolling' and 'Cannily, Cannily', written in the traditional idiom he believed should document modern industry.
