Album Notes & Community Reviews

Acting as a vital piece of musical ethnomusicology, this compilation revives the passionate political balladry born out of the historic Scottish uprisings. The stark, largely unaccompanied performances emphasize lyrical narrative and historical defiance, heavily influencing the repertoire of the ongoing British folk revival.
