Following significant delays and scrapped recording sessions due to the band feeling the initial songs lacked direction, the pop-punk veterans delivered a heavily synthesized, highly eclectic seventh album. The record almost entirely abandons guitar-centric rock for bombastic EDM production, reggae-tinged rhythms, and massive pop hooks. While commercially successful, the incredibly chaotic stylistic pivot proved highly divisive among critics and long-time fans.
