Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fates Warning finalized their transition into a fully realized progressive metal act with the incredibly complex, highly atmospheric 'Awaken the Guardian'. John Arch's theatrical, multi-octave vocals soar above intricate, galloping riffs and unpredictable time changes steeped in dark fantasy lyricism. It is an energetic, deeply mysterious record that established the structural parameters for American progressive metal.
