Album Notes & Community Reviews

Highlighting the phenomenally successful, highly infectious New Orleans sound crafted with producer Dave Bartholomew, this collection is driven by the pianist's remarkably warm, rolling boogie-woogie style. Featuring classic crossover hits that dominated both the R&B and pop charts, his incredibly relaxed, deeply unthreatening vocal delivery broadened the appeal of rock and roll. The impeccably tight, sax-heavy arrangements remain a joyous testament to the era's golden age.
