Album Notes & Community Reviews
Considered a landmark of Portuguese music, 'Por este rio acima' is an ambitious concept album based on the 16th-century epic "Peregrina莽茫o" by Fern茫o Mendes Pinto. The work is notable for its rich orchestration and synthesis of traditional Portuguese folk music with progressive arrangements, employing a vast array of both historic and modern instruments, including synthesizers. Fausto's songwriting creates a complex sonic tapestry that musically narrates Portugal's maritime history, solidifying the album's status as the first installment in his 'Lusitana Di谩spora' trilogy.
