Album Notes & Community Reviews

Fela Kuti's 'Stalemate' continues his long-form Afrobeat method of political critique through groove, call-and-response, and extended horn arrangements. The album belongs to a particularly volatile period in Fela's career, when his music directly confronted Nigerian state power.
