Album Notes & Community Reviews

The second album by Flanger, the collaboration of German producers Uwe Schmidt and Bernd Friedmann, 'Midnight Sound' refracts nu jazz and IDM through cut-up acoustic samples and dub-wise space, and was recorded in Santiago de Chile. Its centerpiece reworks Miles Davis's 'So What', rebuilding a jazz standard from looped bass, brushed drums and electronic interference.
