Album Notes & Community Reviews

Electronic composer Sam Shepherd, known professionally as Floating Points, makes his Deutsche Grammophon debut with 'Mere Mortals', his first full-length ballet score. Recorded alongside the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra as a commissioned project for artistic director Tamara Rojo, the fourteen-track album reimagines the myth of Pandora’s Jar for a technological era, blending apocalyptic brass and elegiac acoustic strings with pulsing, modular synthesizers on the intense movement 'Falling to Earth'.
