The work is built around a simple, seven-note musical phrase that repeats throughout, creating a hypnotic and meditative soundscape. Over this, the legendary spiritual jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders delivers a performance of incredible tenderness and vulnerability, his saxophone cries and whispers floating through the shimmering textures of the electronics and the lush strings of the London Symphony Orchestra. It's a breathtakingly beautiful and genre-defying work.
