Album Notes & Community Reviews

Brazilian vocalist Flora Purim weaves a vibrant, heavily textured tapestry of sound on 'Encounter'. Backed by a stellar fusion ensemble that includes her husband Airto Moreira and keyboardist George Duke, she effortlessly blends complex jazz improvisation with infectious Latin rhythms. Her unique, highly melodic vocal gymnastics provide a psychedelic, almost instrumental quality to the arrangements.
