This is the band's first album since the sudden death of their longtime drummer, Taylor Hawkins, in March 2022. A poignant and emotionally raw record, it directly confronts themes of grief, loss, and survival, serving as a tribute to both Hawkins and Dave Grohl's mother, Virginia. For the recording, Grohl returned to the drum stool for the first time on a Foo Fighters album since 1997.
