Actively rebelling against the inescapable, hyper-commercialized synth-pop success of their debut, the Los Angeles trio heavily incorporates organic instrumentation and 1960s psychedelia into their sophomore effort. Co-produced with Paul Epworth, the sprawling arrangements feature prominent acoustic guitars, African percussion, and jagged, philosophical lyricism confronting modern capitalism and social media culture.
