Album Notes & Community Reviews

Franco Battiato achieved unparalleled commercial success in Italy with this remarkably lush, synth-heavy pivot toward accessible art pop and new wave. 'La voce del padrone' is a wonderfully quirky, deeply playful record that pairs incredibly melodic, summer-ready musical arrangements with highly philosophical, sharply satirical lyrics examining culture and spiritualism.
