Album Notes & Community Reviews

Transitioning smoothly out of the teenage yé-yé boom, this album surrounds Françoise Hardy's delicate vocals with sophisticated, sweeping orchestral arrangements crafted in London by Charles Blackwell. Anchored by the profoundly melancholic and iconic title track, the record perfectly balances contemporary British pop production with classic French chanson lyricism. It cemented her status as a serious, international pop icon.
