Album Notes & Community Reviews

Designed explicitly as a vibrant, up-tempo party record, this immensely successful collection reunited the legendary vocalist with arranger Billy May. The charts are aggressively brassy and heavily syncopated, demanding a highly energetic, relentlessly swinging delivery that perfectly matched the singer's confident, swaggering persona. It dominated the Grammy Awards of its era, winning Album of the Year and standing as one of the most commercially triumphant entries in his storied discography.
