Album Notes & Community Reviews

Serving as the thematic successor to his earlier 'suicide albums,' this notoriously bleak collection delves into profound isolation and romantic despair. Arranger Gordon Jenkins supplied heavy, desolate string charts that envelop the vocalist's weary, emotionally exhausted delivery. Described by the singer himself as a project for 'losers,' it remains one of the darkest and most unsparingly sad commercial pop records of the era.
