Album Notes & Community Reviews
Conceived as a massively ambitious triple-LP comeback, 'Trilogy' is divided into three distinct conceptual themes. The first two discs find Sinatra comfortably tackling classic big band standards and contemporary pop covers, but the final suite, 'The Future', is a bizarre, heavily orchestrated space-age odyssey composed by Gordon Jenkins. It earned widespread critical attention and secured Sinatra a massive late-career commercial victory with the hit 'Theme from New York, New York'.
