Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking an explosive arrival, this debut highlights a searing alto saxophonist heavily steeped in the Chicago bop tradition. Backed effectively by the formidable Wynton Kelly Trio, his solos combine blinding speed with a slightly sharp, biting tone that distinguishes him from the more prevalent Charlie Parker imitators of the time.
