Eschewing traditional rock instrumentation entirely, this Brighton group utilized flute, clarinet, strings, and light synthesizers to craft a stunningly unique brand of sophisticated indie pop. Tim Freeman’s hushed, cynically whispered vocals contrast beautifully with the incredibly lush, pristine arrangements of their debut. It is an exquisite, highly underrated jewel of the British alternative pop landscape.
