Album Notes & Community Reviews
Recorded toward the end of his highly successful tenure with CTI Records, this album features Freddie Hubbard leading an acoustic and electric ensemble through expansive, groove-oriented pieces. With lush production by Creed Taylor and stellar support from players like Junior Cook and George Benson, it balances accessible funk aesthetics with high-level hard bop improvisation. The album highlights Hubbard's peerless trumpet technique over hypnotic, extended vamps.
