Album Notes & Community Reviews
Arranged by Don Sebesky and featuring an all-star cast of CTI Records session heavyweights, the trumpeter's expansive fusion effort is a cornerstone of the 1970s jazz-funk crossover movement. The production seamlessly integrates large, cinematic brass and string charts with tight, syncopated electric grooves and deep electric piano vamps. It captures a vibrant, accessible middle ground between hard bop improvisation and highly polished, radio-friendly soul-jazz.
