The debut album from the New York trio famously blends cinematic pulp-fiction references with a fusion of hip-hop rhythms and blues-rock instrumentation. Recorded at Steve Rosenthal's Magic Shop, the record became a massive international success, particularly with the Tarantino-sampling single 'Scooby Snacks'. It remains a definitive example of the mid-90s crossover sound, defined by Huey Morgan's deadpan delivery and a sleazy, urban-cool aesthetic.
