Album Notes & Community Reviews
Relocating to Baltimore, the synth-pop trio refined their sound on their sophomore effort, anchoring driving, melodic basslines with passionate, theatrical vocal performances. The record perfectly balances post-punk anxiety with earnest romanticism, capturing the band at a crucial transitional point before their mainstream ascendance. It established their distinctive formula of emotionally raw, heavily synthesized dance-rock.
