Album Notes & Community Reviews

An incredibly provocative and darkly comedic conceptual effort, Serge Gainsbourg's 'Rock Around the Bunker' addresses his experiences as a Jewish child in occupied France through the lens of 1950s rock and roll parody. By trivializing Nazi iconography with blues scales and absurdist humor, Gainsbourg deliberately courted massive controversy within the French mainstream.
