Album Notes & Community Reviews

The veteran British alternative rock band delivers an incredibly dark, fiercely intense, and remarkably loud eighth studio album. 'The Soul of the Hour' relies heavily on a terrifyingly dense barrage of distorted garage-rock guitar noise, menacing basslines, and James Johnston's unhinged, deeply desperate vocal performances. It stands as a profoundly noisy, wonderfully psychedelic, and fiercely aggressive late-career masterpiece.
