The original Broadway cast recording of 'Hair' preserves Galt MacDermot's score to the book and lyrics of Gerome Ragni and James Rado, recorded at RCA Studio B days after the Broadway opening with producer Andy Wiswell. It spent thirteen weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, the last Broadway cast album to top the chart for decades, and won the Grammy for Best Score from an Original Cast Show Album.
