Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceived as a teaching album, the second Gamelan Son of Lion volume supplies lyrics, scales and a history of Indonesian music alongside the ensemble's performances. It works in both pelog and slendro tunings on the iron instruments Barbara Benary built in New York, extending the experiment of the group's debut.
