Moment of Truth

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Following a four-year hiatus, 'Moment of Truth' finds Gang Starr at a creative apex, with DJ Premier’s refined, atmospheric production providing a layered backdrop for Guru's most introspective and urgent lyricism. The album's thematic weight is drawn from Guru's personal legal battles, lending a palpable gravity to the tracks, while notable collaborations with artists like Inspectah Deck and Scarface enhance its scope. Widely regarded as the duo's magnum opus, the record is their most commercially successful project and a definitive statement of their influential hardcore hip-hop sound.
