Album Notes & Community Reviews

The pioneering vibraphonist leaned heavily into soulful, highly accessible rhythm and blues structures on this groove-oriented session. Backed by a formidable rhythm section featuring Bernard Purdie and Chuck Rainey, the fluid improvisations are perfectly contextualized within tight, electric funk foundations. It provides a remarkably warm, danceable detour within his highly expansive, deeply experimental discography.
