Album Notes & Community Reviews

Marking an ambitious early statement from the vibraphonist, this session introduces an extraordinarily complex, multi-mallet approach to the instrument. The compositions navigate sophisticated post-bop structures with a remarkably fluid, lyrical precision that separated him from the percussive heavy-hitters of the era. The album served as a vital introduction to a transformative voice in modern acoustic jazz.
