Album Notes & Community Reviews

A masterful exploration of the acoustic bass, 'December Poems' primarily serves as a vehicle for Gary Peacock's profound solo improvisations. The album includes a handful of striking duets with saxophonist Jan Garbarek, contrasting the deep, woody resonance of the bass with icy, Nordic melodies. It stands as a brilliantly stark, introspective highlight of the ECM catalog.
