Album Notes & Community Reviews

The masterful bassist convened an incredible quartet featuring Jan Garbarek, Palle Mikkelborg, and Peter Erskine for a deeply expressive, fluid session. 'Guamba' thrives on highly interactive group improvisation, seamlessly transitioning between melodic structure and avant-garde exploration. The pristine recording exemplifies the spacious, deeply conversational aesthetic championed by ECM Records.
