Album Notes & Community Reviews

Former Virgin Prunes frontman Gavin Friday fully embraces a highly theatrical, deeply seductive lounge-singer aesthetic on 'Shag Tobacco'. The album effortlessly weaves cinematic orchestral flourishes with pulsing, trip-hop-influenced downtempo beats to support Friday's dramatic, heavily whispered vocal performances. The incredibly lush recording famously includes the sweeping track 'Angel', which was featured prominently on the 'Romeo + Juliet' soundtrack.
