Matador

Album Notes & Community Reviews

The former Supergrass frontman delivers an incredibly ambitious, highly experimental sophomore solo effort that completely revitalizes his career. 'Matador' largely abandons classic Britpop structures in favor of heavily synthesized, deeply atmospheric art-rock arrangements. The self-produced album highlights his enduring talent for massive vocal melodies, framing them within a remarkably bold, occasionally claustrophobic electronic production style.
