Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded immediately following his release from a lengthy prison sentence, 'Up Tight!' finds Gene Ammons playing with tremendous urgency and power. His colossal, blues-saturated tenor saxophone tone dominates the session, effortlessly bridging deeply emotive balladry with relentless, hard-swinging soul-jazz grooves.
