Album Notes & Community Reviews

Pianist Gene Harris immerses his bluesy, soul-jazz roots entirely into deep jazz-funk and orchestral disco on 'Tone Tantrum'. With heavy production and sweeping background vocals, the album prioritizes infectious dance grooves and smooth synthesizer layers over traditional jazz improvisation. It has become a highly sampled favorite among hip-hop producers.
