Album Notes & Community Reviews
On 'Ooh Rap I Ya', George Clanton evolves his vaporwave and chillwave origins by fully embracing 90s alternative dance, pop, and trip-hop aesthetics. The album's production, noted as a more hi-fi and maximalist version of his work on 'Slide', is built on textured, atmospheric synths, overblown baggy percussion, and anthemic choruses influenced by acts like Seal and Savage Garden. This sonic palette supports songwriting themes of self-realization and nostalgia, creating a soundscape that balances euphoric pop hooks with dense, psychedelic instrumentation.
